Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements
Tasks to be undertaken:
In this coursework you are expected to:
1. Develop a Product Vision using either a Visionbox or an Elevator Statement for a
software product of your choice.
2. Refine the Product Vision in an adequate breakdown of Epics and User Stories that
would allow an agile team to commence with their first productive sprint.
3. Consider that the team is operating on a velocity of 8% of the overall estimated
project effort. Produce a project roadmap and sign out clearly identifiable release
goals.
4. Use the instructions below to compile a table of sprint velocities and answer the
questions that follow.
(i) Velocity of the first sprint is 8% of the total effort.
(ii) Throw a pair of dice 9 times and record the numbers in a table similar to Table
A:
(iii) Calculate each Sprint’s velocity as:
(i) previous velocity + 1 if dice throw is at least 2 higher than the current
velocity
(ii) previous velocity – 1 if dice throw is at least 2 lower than the current
velocity
(iii) otherwise velocity remains unchanged.
5.Draw a Burndown chart mapping the project progress over the duration of the project.
6.At what point would you as a Product Owner consider revising the Project Roadmap
developed in point 3? Provide the rationale of your argument and explain how this is
communicated to stakeholders and the Scrum Team.
7. Document steps 1-6 adequately in a report (max 10 pages, 11pt Arial with 2cm
margins).
Deliverables to be submitted for assessment:
1. A report (Max 10 pages, 11pt Arial with 2cm margins) documenting:
1. Project Vision
2. Initial Product Backlog
3. Project Roadmap
4. Project Tracking and Monitoring in form of a Burndown chart with
