Students will locate and interview two learners of English speaking two different L1s. With the help of the text, Learner English, and any other found resources students will identify common attributes of the learners’ interlanguages and errors in English pronunciation, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary. Students will then write an essay describing the findings and analysis, highlighting 3-5 areas which you feel are most prominent or which significantly impede understanding. Discuss these errors/difficulties/weaknesses using terminology from this course and readings. Following your findings and analysis, include specific suggestions for remediation of each issue. These may be in the form of lesson plans, practice exercises, or drills that would help each learner work on these areas. You may either provide the actual lessons/activities or describe the necessary components in prose form.
