Compare & contrast 2 cartoons, Fleischer Bros’ Minnie the Moocher (1932) with Disney’s Steamboat Willie (1928). Explain how the Fleischer Bros used the Rotoscoping technique and how this was incorporated into the story narrative. Talk about at least 3 key similarities in animation technique (rubber hose, anthropomorphized objects, e.g.), and examine at least 3 key differences.

Do not simply describe something you see; put the visual aspect into the context of the narrative – how is it emphasizing a story point? For example, do not just say: “Both films used the technique of rubber hose animation, which was very popular at this time.” Instead, argue how this technique helps move the story along.
