Use Director, Martin Scorsese and apply Sarris’s “Auteur Theory” to three of his films (The departed, Shutter island, Wolf of wall street). You will need to pick at least two themes and two stylistic tropes that can be examined across the films.

1. Class (is an issue with Scorsese, he worked a lot with working class people. (privilege, the problems of male relationships, the way men are always forming brotherhoods, also constantly being betrayed)
2. Betrayal (noticed in all films) and Two stylistic tropes that can be examined across the films. 1.Voice overs (actors are explaining the world they live in) 2.Look for slow motion shots, wolf of wall street (the party and they’re on drugs)
