For essay 3, you will write a 2,000 word research-based essay on a story or author of your choosing that you have encountered this semester in this class. You may choose to compare/contrast two stories by the same author or two stories from differing authors. You may look at symbolism, setting, mood, or tone in a story. Really, the choice is yours. You may not write about a story you have written about in a previous essay, and you must have your topic approved by me. You will be required 3 outside sources, which you will find using only the Valencia databases. I encourage you to think about this topic over the weekend and come in Monday with an idea of what you would like to research and write about.
