Analyzing the setting. How is it presenting itself? Geographical? Emotional? Confined to a single space? How is it affecting the story line? Do you detect a metaphor in the setting? Remember to paste a brief passage from the selected story (3–5 sentences, preferably) into the Discussion Area.

In that same story selection—or another, if you like—select a passage (preferably no more than 3–5 sentences) that you consider indicative of the author’s strong voice, and explain why you feel this way. Remember to include material from either your course text or lecture notes to supplement your response.
