Dialogue, Action & Subtext analysis Academic Essay

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Using the PDF of a scene taken from Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous, (found on the attached file), do the below analysis: • Read the six pages of this PDF, taken from a scene early on in the film, where character and relationships are still being established and revealed (shown) to the audience. • Take careful note of the big print (action description) and the dialogue and how the writer reveals character through what they say (dialogue) and what they do (action). • Write down examples you find, and elaborate on what is being “said” in the subtext as opposed to the “text”. Remember – the “text” is the notional subject under discussion, while the “subtext” operates underneath what is being said. The subtext may be embodied in what the character say, what they don’t say, the actions they take and the objects with which they interact.
