NOTE – This assessment is in three parts.
• The assessment will require students visiting a Crown Court and observing how the Court works in practical terms by observing and reporting on an actual case.

• In order to complete this task, you will need to have read, understood and evaluate how the Courts operates and the functions of those individuals involved within it. You will need to read the relevant chapters of the recommended textbook but also demonstrate the ability to carry out your own independent research.

• You will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the relevant court processes including the relevant statute and case law which give the legal basis surrounding the function jurisdiction and processes of the Court.

• OSCOLA referencing system should be used throughout.

• NOTE – ONLY USE UK REFERENCES – CASE LAW AND STATUTES

• The word limit for this assignment is 2000 words

Part A:- consists of a report describing the role and function of those involved in the organisation (Stating all the officials and their fictions) and running of a Crown Court as observed on a visit.
Note:–
– I’ve visited Crown Court
– Case witnessed: Threat to kill and criminal damage

Part B:- will consist of an essay exploring an aspect of this Courts function with one of the following titles:
? Explain how juries are selected and their function in criminal trials including the arguments “for and against” their abolition.

Part C:- a short 500-word reflective discussion on how this assessment will inform future legal studies.
