You are asked to produce an extended goal statement between 500 and 1000 words. Make sure it is accurately spelled, grammatically correct, and contains appropriate punctuation. Your ideas should be well organized and developed fully to address the question posed. This statement should represent your best writing efforts and will be evaluated, along with your other application materials, by faculty interviewers. Please submit this Extended Goal Statement to your Enrollment Counselor as an attachment via email:

Describe your interest in becoming a professional psychologist. Include in your answer your goals, objectives, and plans as they pertain to obtaining a doctoral degree and the way in which you intend to utilize that degree after graduation. Additionally, your answer should specify how additional education, beyond your current credentials, will help you to meet those goals.

In addition to your other application materials, the admissions committee seeks to understand your potential as a professional psychologist in terms of your ability to write clearly and communicate your thoughts effectively. Please submit this Writing Sample to your Enrollment Counselor as an attachment via email.
