Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

The student is required to present a report of 2000 words ±10% and workshop textile sampling. The sampling will be produced and/or provided from the student’s attendance to the textile workshops. The attendance to Lectures and Seminars will support the student’s knowledge and their research required to complete the report.
Within the report the student is to present an analysis of two identified retailers and/or designers who specialise in fashion applications (garments and/or accessories) from each of the following textile processes: constructed textiles and print.
The student is to choose the two retailers and/or designers – This can be a combination, for example: one retailer and one designer; or all retailers; or all designers.

In the report the student will write a reflective analysis of each of their chosen retailer or designer, including:
Market level of identified retailer or designer (for each textile· process: constructed textiles and print);
Information to fibre/yarn composition of the woven, knitted and· printed fashion garments and/or accessories;
Information on the textile technology used: constructed technology and· printed technology.

Analysis of the cost of fashion items (garments and/or accessories) in· relation to the market level and production
processes, for example:
o Does the textile production process warrant the cost of the item? Why?
o Does the textile production process help to confer a specific status to the product, e.g. value, exclusivity, eco-
credentials, high tech? How?
o Is the production process suitable for the market level or not? Why?
