You are to write a 2-3-page paper on your favorite pop song. It can be from any pop genre: rock, jazz, soul, hip-hop, from a Broadway musical, or another pop genre. Your paper should utilizethefollowing three areas:

Area A: Song History:composer(s)of the music and lyrics, date(s) it wascomposed and published,who originally recorded it, who has covered it, album titles on which it appears, awards it has won, if any. Include any historicalinformation pertinent to the song.

Area B: Elements of Music: as best you can, describe how the elements of music are used
in the song: melody, rhythm (meter/tempo), texture, harmony, form, vocal range,
and instrumentation.

Area C: Personal Response: When did you first hear the song and in what context? How
has the song impacted your life? Has the song opened doors to other music? How has the song changed the way you listen to music?
