Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

These papers must be between 1200 and 1500 words in length. Please include a word count. You must use the MLA format for research papers and adhereto Canadian standards for grammar, spelling and punctuation. Any deviations from these standards will result in a substantially lower mark. (Margins,endnote style, page numbering, line spacing, Works Cited etc.) You must use references to scholarly secondary literature in these papers. Secondary materialis material written about either the films or the techniques used to make the films. Scholarly material does not include film reviews, Wikipedia articles orfilm-fan blogs. This means that you must include quotations and references to the quotations that are not in the class textbook. The UNBC library has a goodselection of on-line film journals in the Film & Television Literature Index, JSTOR and Project Muse databases. I highly recommend that you look at theFirefox extension Zotero (also available in stand-alone format). It is very useful for creating a Works Cited page. Some help with writing a paper for this course is available at: http://blogs.unbc.ca/engl104/essay-writing/ The Internet Movie Database http://imdb.com/ is a good source of information about films, but do not use the film reviews on this site in your papers.
