Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

The assignment is: Write a 4 page book review of the Fabio Rojas book. There is to be a title page and a works cited page (not included in the 4 page count). Papers should be 12 point font, Times New Roman, double spaced, in MLA or APA format. The essay is due May 12, 2016 at 10:00 P.M. NO LATE PAPERS ACCEPTED!

This is to be a book review NOT a book summary. Meaning you should have analysis and critique of the book. With your analysis and critique you can use other class readings to support your claim. In a book review there should only be about 1/2-1 page summary of the book. Another way to think about this it is to consider when people talk about a movie. For example, when a movie comes out people might spend about 2-5 minutes saying what the movie was about. Then the remainder of the conversation is an analysis. What made the movie good or bad? What was significant about a particular scene. How did the lighting and the sound effects contribute to the film. How was the character development throughout the movie. The answers to these questions are more than a summary. They provide a deeper understanding of the feel and the audience members' reaction to the film. A book review is doing this. How did the author develop his argument? How was it supported? What parts in the book stood out? How does this relate to the class overall? Thinking about these things will assist you in your writing of the book review.
