Thesis Statement:
1.  Choose of topic of interest.  It can be most anything, but should have some scientific basis and it should have some controversy

(differences of opinion) within our society. Provide a thesis statement:  what is the issue and what is the opinion that you will be

supporting?
Analysis:
2.  What is the big picture issue that is being addressed?  If it is a scientific question or procedure, describe it in enough detail so

that a reader can understand this well.
3.  What are the two opposing viewpoints?  What are the outcomes of each viewpoint – should they prevail?
4.  What are the supporting arguments for each viewpoint?
5.  What is your opinion?  Why?  Use your knowledge of the scientific method in your evaluation.  Attain opinions of others (articles,

etc.) and evaluate whether you agree or not and why?
Conclusion:
Synopsize the issue, your opinion and support, and the outcome you would like to see.

Please include 3 or 4 figures – one of which you prepare based on your analysis.  Be sure to label them appropriately and reference them

in your text.  Figure size should not be excessive!  They should be just large enough so that they can be easily read.
Be sure to label sections as appropriate.  It is easier to read these kinds of documents if they have a nice heading for each section.
You should have a minimum of 8 references.  Be sure to reference them in your text.
