Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Requirements:

1) Select one work of art and do a formal analysis of this artwork.

1. a) This is an exercise in looking. Therefore, any discussion of the artist’s biography, historical context, or your personal experience will not be counted towards the word count.

1. b) Your essay should include discussion of all the elements and principles, and discussion of the medium used by the artist. In particular, you should develop an argument that discusses how the artist used the principle of emphasis.

1. c) Your essay should be 1000 words.

2) An image of the artwork.

3) You are required to turn in evidence that you went to the museum in the form of a picture of yourself in front of the artwork or the museum. Tickets alone will not suffice.
