You are required to critically analyse two contrasting empirical studies described in academic journal articles. You will explore the research approaches that have
been taken, including; the nature of the context and research problem; the sampling frame; the use of primary and/or secondary data; the data collection instruments;
approaches to analysis and how the analysis is presented – in order to critically appraise the contrasting approaches.
Various research papers will be considered in the Module sessions and these can be used to select two articles for your assessment. You are also free to choose
empirical papers from any peer reviewed journal that reflect your research topic (although in this circumstance, you must provide copies or links to the chosen papers
to your Module leader).
