CAPSTONE/LITERATURE REVIEW: The student will be required to complete, submit and present a manuscript with the results of the extensive literature search on a selected anesthesia topic. This manuscript will include:
• Manuscript Content Requirements: 20 -30 page requirement.
1. The manuscript should include the following elements: title page, abstract, text, references. If tables, figures, or figure legends are used, each should be on a separate page. Number pages consecutively.
Title Page: Contains a concise but informative title.
Abstract: This is a brief (500 word) synopsis of the manuscript and therefore should include the significance of the findings, generalization of the findings, consideration of the implications and suggestions for further areas of exploration.
Introduction: Clearly state the purpose of the literature review, what you
intend to investigate and why it is important to the practice of anesthesia.
Literature Review: Provide a review of the literature using references to support your discussion.
Body: Provide a review of the literature using references to support your discussion.
Discussion: Offer thoughtful implications, inferences, suppositions and limitations of the research. Make recommendations for further research based on your findings or experience with the research. Discuss how and/or why it is important to the practice of anesthesia.
