history of Economic Thought

The topics for the first exam are as following:
1. Write about the Mercantilist school of thought. What were their main tenets and contributions to economics as a subject of study? Who benefited from their ideas?

2. Write about the Physiocrats school of thought. What were their main tenets and contributions to economics as a subject of study?Who benefited from their ideas?

You can prepare a half page outline for each topic and bring print out of that with you. You can be assigned any one topic to write. For preparation of the outline you should read from blackboard, text book and the research papers listed in the course outline. Time allowed will be one hour. There is no limit on the length, you can write as many pages as you want. The evaluation will be based on the content and understanding of the ideas.
