the lecture slides:

Your answer to the question should not be a simple yes or no you are
expected to use the literature to critically analyse the particular model or
theory you have chosen. You may come up with alternative explanations
based on your reading and what youve learned through the semester.
It is expected that you produce an analysis rather than a description. Do not
merely summarise or describe what others have said. Provide an analysis of
how the theory or theories can be applied, and where the gaps or limits to
this theory lie.
Structure your essay into paragraphs using topic sentences at the beginning
of each paragraph that clearly state the main point for that paragraph. An
introduction should make clear your argument, and a conclusion should
summarise the main points you have covered and explain why this is a
significant issue.
A good essay will use examples where appropriate to substantiate the
argument or point, eg a particular famine, or a particular economic
development. Given the short word length do not spend too much time
describing case studies/examples. Give just enough information to back up
your point and reference.clear and concise response to the assigned questions.
