A classic undergraduate philosophy paper is usually about five pages long and involves two basic components. In the first. you
present a philosopher’s argument and in the second. you subject that argument to some form of critical assessment. Both
components present challenges. In my experience. students tend to underestimate the difficulty of presenting a philosopher’s
argument clearly and in their own words. They also tend to struggle with generating good criticisms.

In this. the second paper. you will write another complete philosophy paper. one that has both the descriptive and critical
components. I want you to focus especially on conducting an intelligent and developed critical assessment.
