Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

In an essay entitled “What is living and what is dead in social democracy,” historian Tony Judt called on his readers to reach behind the neoliberal ideology of the 1980s and 1990s to recapture the insights into the problems of capitalism that inspired the pre-1945 labor movement. In contrast, Tony Blair calls for a new labour movement, new unions, a new welfare system, and the creation of a stakeholder society. Using Great Britain as a case study, analyze the transformation of capitalism and work since the 1970s, explain the reasoning behind Blairs program, and then evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots of his proposals.
