nurses refuse influenza vaccine & health disparity

Having nurses refuse the influenza vaccine so vehemently does not help the cause. Anikeeva and colleagues (2009) discuss the rationale for healthcare workers refusing
to get vaccinated. The major reason seems to be attitudinal factors. I also think that healthcare workers vary in their level of risk perception, as do patients. As
you mentioned, influenza in the “right” host and “right” environment can cause serious and potentially lethal.. Health equity is the principle underlying a commitment
to reduce or eliminate a disparity in health and all of health determinants, including social. (Braveman, 2014) Health equity is striving for the highest possible
standard of care for all people while giving special attention to those patients at a disadvantage based on their special needs and /or vulnerability.
