Arrange a visit to a local meal site (senior citizens center, church, etc.) or volunteer with a person who delivers Meals-on-Wheels. Observe how older adult clients interact with others. Use the Nutrition Checklist for Older Adults (Table 19-2 in the textbook) to determine the needs of each client. Discuss the impact of meeting nutritional needs in a social setting versus eating in isolation.
