Topic of essay is : To what extent  did Jan van Eyck’s talent for pictorial realism showcase individual power and influence, in the socio-cultral environment of Renaissance Flanders. I came up with the topic for my end or year assignment. So material are library books and online research. Some questions to have in mind, I will write and upload. But the dynamic is around three things: the contex of the work from the patron’s point of view, the context of the work in a more general social sense, and the artist’s skill.
