Politics and Ecomonics in Sociology
Take a look at all of the links posted in the chapter 13 module. I want you to think about the myriad political and economic crises in which we (globally) find ourselves. For this discussion I don′t mind if you exert your ′opinion′ as long as you stay sociological (and demonstrate that you are critically thinking about the topic). I want you to watch/read closely (and read the material in the book) so that your posts reflect an awareness (or considerations) of the situation that perhaps you did not previously have. Some things to consider and discuss: * the role of today′s youth in the political process and in terms of social change; * participation in the political process (as evidenced by voting); * your chances of securing some piece of the ″American Dream″ in the midst of this financial crisis; * who actually has POWER (governments? global organizations? specific leaders? the federal reserve? the masses of people who take to the streets?)
