One of the key questions that is asked about a research topic is how does the topic contribute to current knowledge it could be specific to your specific context or company. For those of you who may go into academic research, this is a crucial step in the publication process. But even for those of you conducting research solely for the purposes of increasing profit for the firm, the literature review helps to convince those funding the research makes a new contribution where existing work is inadequate. Practice: With the help of google scholar, do a literature review on your topic of interest and see what areas of business research your topic connects to. Write up a two-page review of this literature citing the main findings in these works and the potential limitations. Make sure to use multiple sources and also cite them appropriately.
