Policy debate assignment;
The assignment is designed to help the student learn the social conditions and political climate that precipited the development of selected social welfare policies. Student will be divided into two groups (Conservatives vs. liberals) to debate the relative merits of different options for options for implementing each policy by applying the following decision framework:
• Which individuals or groups get services
• What services they get
• Manner in which services are delivered
• Manner in which services are financed
Write a 1 Page length
• Statement of the social problem or condition that led to need for policy action
• Brief description of the preferred policy option
• Summary of the argument the relative merits of different policy options.
