After reviewing the OSAA rules this week, you know that your state athletic association also shares your fear. For your assignment this week, you are required to locate two court cases (from anywhere in the country) where a student athlete sued their school or local athletic association for injuries sustained on the field of play under a claim of negligence. The legal claims brought by the student athlete can be related to faulty equipment, lack of proper supervision, improper medical treatment, or any other potential issue you can identify.

For your assignment, develop a two (2) page paper that addresses the following questions for each case:

1. What did the student athlete’s claim rely on?
2. What was the outcome of the case?
3. Is there a rule anywhere in the OSAA Handbook that would have prevented the injury? Why or why not?
4. If there is not a rule on point, do you think the OSAA should consider adopting such a rule? Why or why not?
