Is she simply continuing the tradition of appropriation, taking it to its final level, or is she a plagiarist? Is she brilliant for the conceptual work of photographing a photograph, or is there no craft involved in her work? Is Marcel Duchamp also displaying a total lack of craft when he exhibits a Snow Shovel? What is the difference (if any) in their work? Isnt the whole point of Contemporary art the challenging of tradition and the surprise of the new? The critique of the commodification of art and the mystique of the one-of-a-kind? Are you angry that you didnt think of it first?
