Reaction Papers to Films

Reaction papers allow students the opportunity to integrate theory from relevant class readings, lectures, and class discussions into an analysis of specific cases in sport. There will be 3 reaction papers throughout the semester based on documentaries shown in class. The papers should highlight the concepts discussed in class which are prevalent in the corresponding documentary. Students are encouraged to pull from any class material, not just the lesson directly connected with the film. Each paper is worth 40 points.

Guideline for the Structure of the Reaction Paper (minimum of three pages):
Use APA and follow writing guidelines located in my syllabus. Submit on Blackboard by 9:00 am on the day it is due.

1.Introductory paragraph
Provide a brief description of the documentary
2.Body paragraphs (2-3 paragraphs)
Contain analysis and personal reaction to the content as it relates to personal experiences and course material such as the textbook, class discussion, and general aspects of sport and society
Explore 2-3 questions for class discussion that came to mind during or after watching the documentary
3.Concluding paragraph
Summarize your main thoughts regarding the documentary
