This project is a team project. You may not work on it by yourself. You will receive a grade of 0 if you work alone. Teams may be 2 or 3 people. You may not work in teams larger than 3 people. Everyone in the team will receive the same grade. Use this paper as a cover sheet.

Tropical cyclones that develop in the Atlantic Ocean, hurricanes, and that develop in the western or central Pacific Ocean, typoons, are classified using the Saffir-Simpson hurricane wind scale. Hurricanes or typhoons with sustained winds exceeding 156 miles per hour are classified as Category 5 storms, the most severe storms.

The “Category 5” data file contains two sets of data, information about known Category 5 storms in the Atlantic and the central and eastern Pacific. The data include Time as a Category 5 storm, Peak sustained winds, and Pressure.

Do the following for each data set.

1. Create a histogram of Time as a Category 5 and Pressure. For Pressure, use either hPa or inHg (these are just two different measurement scales). You will create four histograms, 2 per data set.
2. Use the histograms to discuss the shape of each data set.
3. State the 5-number summary Time as a Category 5 and Pressure. You will create four 5-number summaries, 2 per data set.
4. Construct a side-by-side boxplot of the two data sets Time as a Category 5 and Pressure. You will create 2 side-by-side boxplots, one per data category.
5. Use the side-by-side boxplot to discuss the shape of each data set and to compare and contrast the shape of the data sets.

Note: Make sure you provide titles for your data representations.

Important note: You are not allowed to collaborate with any other team. You may only collaborate with your teammates.

It is highly suggested you use software to draw your histograms and boxplots. However, if you do it by hand, you must do so very neatly. You may not use lined notebook paper. You must use white printer paper for each response.
