The overall module mark will be awarded through formal assessment based upon the Jaguar Land Rover and Chery Automobile case. This is an individual assignment designed to test students’ ability to
engage in research, select information, synthesise data, apply frameworks and draw relevant conclusions. This case-based assignment will allow students to demonstrate their theoretical as well as
practical knowledge of analytical frameworks in international businesses relevant to the case. Both lectures and seminars are therefore crucial to good preparation of the individual assignment.
Successfully navigating the challenges and opportunities in the dynamic and complex business environment require an in-depth, multifaceted understanding. Three key skills are necessary for
achieving this success; they include:

• Data Collection Skills – gathering resources from a wide variety of disciplines and perspectives,
• Data Synthesis Skills – triangulating and integrating data from diverse resources to generate a coherent and concise analysis of the business environment
• Application Analytic Skills – applying knowledge gleaned from data collection and synthesis to real-world business situations and outlining actionable recommendations for managers.
