Final paper
You will be expected to turn in a final research paper at the end of the quarter. The paper should be between seven and ten pages in length and one how archaeologists study the past.
Over the course of the quarter we will discuss a variety of different topics that discuss the different methods archaeologists analyze artifacts and sites. Your final paper will focus on one of those techniques.
A successful final paper will do two things. First of all you should be able to discuss the process by which archaeologists analyze a site/object showing a full understanding of the process. Secondly you should be able to provide case studies and explain how this methodology is used to understand the past.

A An A paper is excellently written and provides significant insight into the chosen topic. It demonstrates substantial knowledge on the methodology discussed and shows specific examples of how archaeologists collect and analyze archaeological material. An A paper should reference both class readings and outside sources.
