To what extend has the model of ‘Buen Vivir’ in Ecuador provided an alternative to neoliberal development?

Please talk about what it is understood by neoliberal development. Especially, in Latin America and Ecuador.
What elements/ fundaments/ policies are involved in neoliberal development (Washington consensus)
What have been the implication and results of having neoliberalism as the political economy of the region and Ecuador.
Then states what the ‘Buen Vivir’ is (you can find information about it with its translated names ‘good living’, or sumak kawsay as well).
– here put Buen Vivir in a political economic context – as a post-neoliberal approach. Brought during the rise of a new left in Latin America .
State what are the key elements that this alternative propose ( to give you an idea the sumak kawsay establish a different relationship between society and the nature).
You could either assess the theory of buen vivir relative to the practice (policy making) in a different section or doing it as you state the elements of buen vivir.

As I see it the ideology of Buen Vivir is one (An Andean worldview) and the practice or materialisation of it is another ( Example: the ideology is about a different relationship with the nature [pachamama] but the extraction of natural resources has increased; even though the means of extraction are now claimed to be eco-friendly, it remains the same as with neoliberalism(extracting natural sources).
David Harvey in his review of neoliberalism differentiates between the utopia of neloberalism and the neoliberalization. You could do a connection between the utopia of buen vivir and the materialisation of the socialismo del buen vivir. This I think happens when a discourse/ideology becomes a hegemonic power. (Gramsci understanding of the state and society)

As long as you demonstrate whether or not the Ecuadorian government’s plan of Buen Vivir is different to neoliberalism then you can take my ideas or not. And please organise the dissertation in the most understandable way.
