The aim of this assignment is to assess prevention, diagnosis and management of type two diabetes mellitus T2DM in terms of the improvement of glycaemic control, B-cell function, quality of life and adverse events.

Please critically evaluate the issues around prevention, diagnosis and management. Critically analyse the literature available, highlighting any deficiencies and possible areas for future research.

Critically appraise the available trials which assessed the better management to delay or prevent type two diabetes mellitus. Please include the following studies in your appraisal among the other studies: UK Prospective Diabetes Study (UKPDS), World Health Organisation (WHO), and American Diabetes Association. Also include National guide lines.

Discuss the appropriate use of screening tools as a major factor in preventing and controlling T2DM.
