This is sort of a skills assignment and discussion board question rolled into one. Use a CCC library article database to find a journal, newspaper, or magazine article that relates to your topic and helps answer your current research question. Your article must have the following qualities:

full-text article and at least 500 words in length
written no earlier than 2006

-Discussion Topic Post

Once you select and review an article you found helpful to your research topic, post the following to the discussion board:

Title of the article
Citation (correct MLA format – databases-generated citations don’t always use correct capitalization or indents for citations)
Permalink or URL to the article
Two paragraphs: first paragraph should talk about your experience searching an article database – show what you did or didn’t like about searching the database (or databases, if you tried several) and explain why. The second paragraph should show why the article is helpful to your research topic question, what type of article you selected (newspaper, magazine, journal), and what type of information it provides the reader (e.g. case studies, opinion, general information, survey data, etc). Show us why we would want to use this article for your topic.
You must post to two other classmates’ discussion posts for full credit. Make sure your comments contribute to the discussion. One-sentence responses such as, “I agree!” or “I thought the database was easy to use too” will not receive credit.

I used Academic Search Premier. I’ve never used an article database before and I thought it was easy to use because the search limiters really helped narrow down my initial search results of over 1500 articles. And so forth…
