American Illustration

Order Description
Professor’s guideline for Assignment: The paper must reflect any theme, genre or comparison of “American” illustration, past or present. Please no biographies of past or deceased illustrators, rather try to contrast and compare styles of illustration from past to present day.

My possible topic: I want to explore illustration in children’s books and magazines through comparing and contrasting their use of illustration such as their technical characteristics, styles, and business strategies. Also, I will examine their Golden Age and development from past to present day.

Professor’s comment on my topic: keep in mind that illustrations are always tied to the most current & popular media.
i.e., 19th century/print -> 21st century/electronic media

Conclusion: So, I want to talk about the development of illustration from the past (books and magazines) to present (electronic media, animation ex. Disney).
